NNPP Gubernatorial Candidate Denies Suspension in Ebonyi State

Prophet Chris Adol-awam, the gubernatorial candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Ebonyi State, has denied being suspended by his Echiaba ward executive. This follows the recent suspension of Adol-awam by the leadership of NNPP Echiaba ward, led by the Secretary of the ward, Anni Okochukwu, over alleged anti-party activities.

Adol-awam, who spoke through the director of media and publicity, NNPP campaign organization, Mr. Victor Uraku, blamed the former chairman of the Party, Mr. Solomon Chukwu, for the said suspension. He stated that “The former NNPP State Chairman, Mr. Solomon Chukwu, and his cohort are impersonators who falsely claimed to have suspended the gubernatorial candidate from the Party.” He further clarified that the substantive Chairman of Echiaba Ward, as recognized by the National leadership of the NNPP and INEC, is Ndubuisi Nweke, and Mr. Alex Ominyi as Secretary.

Adol-awam claimed that the bone of contention began when he asked Solomon Chukwu to give a proper account, and that the suspension was a result of his attempt to hold the former chairman accountable. On the other hand, the embattled chairman, Solomon Chukwu, insists that the suspension of Adol-awam stands, alleging that he met secretly with the stakeholders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi and later accepted to collapse the structure of the NNPP to the ruling party, leaving the NNPP faithfuls hopeless and frustrated in the State.

The NNPP gubernatorial candidate denied these allegations and accused Chukwu of orchestrating the suspension due to his attempt to hold him accountable. Adol-awam stated, “This mischievous and malicious act would have been ignored, but we owe the people of Ebonyi State and our teeming supporters the truth behind this lamely woven falsehood.”

In conclusion, the NNPP gubernatorial candidate in Ebonyi State has denied being suspended by his Echiaba ward executive. This follows recent allegations of anti-party activities, which were leveled against him by the ward leadership. However, the situation remains unresolved, with both parties standing their ground. It remains to be seen how the matter will be resolved and what impact it will have on the upcoming gubernatorial elections in the state.
