Early on Sunday morning, a group of hoodlums burned down the recently renovated Umuchu Police Station in the Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The station, located along the Umuchu-Achina road, had been destroyed during the 2020 #EndSARS protests and was subsequently renovated and upgraded by members of the Umuchu Improvement Union, who donated it back to the Nigeria Police Force.
There were no reported casualties as the station was unoccupied at the time of the attack.
The President-General of the Umuchu Progressive Union, Charles Ezeabasili, described the incident as “disheartening and unfortunate.” The state police spokesman was not available for comment.
