Police Trail Abductors of Edo Train Passengers

On Saturday, 31 train passengers were abducted from the Tom Ikimi Train Station in Igueben, Edo State. This includes the Manager of the station, Godwin Okpe, the head of security of the station, known as Ikhayere, and 29 other passengers.

Soldiers, police officers, and vigilantes are currently searching for the kidnappers, who are believed to be armed herdsmen.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive of Nigeria Railway Corporation, Fidel Okhiria, has confirmed that the police, army, and vigilantes are working to rescue the abductees and capture the perpetrators.

The Inspector-General of Police has also sent police special squads, including the Intelligence Response Team and Anti-Terrorism Squad, to assist in the rescue efforts.

Two children, aged between two and five, whose parents are believed to have been abducted, are currently in the custody of the police in Agbor, Delta State. Most of the victims are from the South-South and South-East regions.
