Key APC Members Boycott Presidential Campaign Rally in Enugu

Several key members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chief Geoffrey Onyeama, the former Senate President, Ken Nnamani, the former Governor of the state, Mr Sullivan Chime, and former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Chief Eugene Odo, boycotted a presidential campaign rally held in the state capital on Wednesday.

The boycott was due to internal issues with the state chairman, Chief Ugochukwu Agballah, and complaints that the party had been in disarray since someone not known by the party emerged as the chairman.

The stakeholders also expressed frustration that the governorship candidate and the deputy were from the same senatorial zone, and that there had been external interference in the party.

They stated that they would work to ensure APC’s victory during the general election but felt they had no choice but to distance themselves from the illegal act.
