The All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council in Ebonyi State has denounced the attempted assassination of the party’s chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha.
On December 26, 2022, Emegha was attacked in his village, and the Director-General of the campaign council, Chief Austin Umahi, led members of the council and APC candidates to visit Emegha at his residence in Abakaliki to show their support.
Umahi stated that the attempt to harm Emegha was reprehensible and repugnant and that Emegha had made significant contributions to the party and deserved respect from all members.
He also condemned the property damage and loss of life that resulted from the attack and expressed his condolences to Emegha and his family.
Emegha thanked the council for their visit and solidarity, and said that he would have been killed if not for divine intervention.
