Ebonyi State Senator Sam Egwu has been reportedly suspended over alleged anty-party activities by the embattled People Democratic party , Barr.Onyekachi Nwebonyi on Thursday 19 November 2020.
This was conveyed through a statement signed by Hon.Onyekachi Nwebonyi mentioning Egwu and his colleague, Senator Obinna Ogba representing Ebonyi South Senatorial District as embodiment of misrepresentation , should serve the punishment pending the resolution of the State working Committee.
Another Senator from the state facing the same punishment is Senator Michael Ama Nnachi.
It was also gathered that the PDP has suspended the three Senators, and five House of Representatives members from the state over anti-Party activities but the trio remained the leaders since the issue of Ebonyi Abuja group began causing a serious squabbles among them.
The State PDP Chairman, Barr. Onyekachi Nwebonyi in a statement disclosed this on Thursday to newsmen.
Nwebonyi in the statement said that three Senators from the state and elected under the platform of PDP included Senator Sam Egwu, Senator Michael Ama Nnachi and Senator Obinna Ogba.
He added that the House of Representatives members suspended by the party include Hon. Chukwuma Nwanzunku, Hon. Sylvester Ogbaga, Hon. Livunus Makwe and Hon. Idu Igariwey.
He noted that the party equally has suspended Hon. Victor Aleke, Hon. Chris Usulor and other PDP members in the state following their repeated anti-party activities.
Meanwhile, the party leadership has invited all the members under suspension to appear before its disciplinary Committee to defend themselves over the allegations on Friday, 20th November, 2020 or wait to risk unbearable punishment.
Recall that there was a publication issued projecting another group of people being the newly officials of the PDP in the state following its dissolution by the National body.
