In commemoration of world pharmacist day, the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria-Young Pharmacists’ Group, Ebonyi State Chapter, has expressed readiness to transform global health through developing good, safe, and effective pharmaceutical care services to prolong human lives.
This was made known in a statement where the theme of the event was tagged: ‘Transforming Global Health.’
In the statement, the group said: “This years’ topic, ‘‘Transforming Global Health,’’ showcases how pharmacists contribute meaningfully to a world where everyone benefits from adequate access to safe, quality, effective and affordable medicines, as well as pharmaceutical care services.”
The group added that the ceremony was also an avenue to communicate how pharmacists are transforming health by ensuring correct drug prescriptions, prompt administration of medications by patients, advising on healthy living, and managing disease, as well as improving quality of life.
They, however, went further to admonish every health care provider in the state and beyond to put hands on deck to improve the quality of lives of patients, while calling on sister professions to avail themselves the opportunity of participating in their myriads of activities on radio, television, essay writing competitions, health talks amongst others.
