Ebonyi Set to Recruit Over 1300 Youths into Community Policing


Following the ongoing neighbourhood recruitment exercise in the 13 Local Government Counci, Ebonyi State Government to recruit over 1,300 youths both male and female.

Hon. Chidiebere Egwu Goodluck, Special Assistant to Ebonyi State Governor on Youth Employment revealed this to newsmen.

He said that the ongoing state neighborhood security watch screening exercise is intended to produce decent citizens for the job, not criminal minded people with criminal record.

He further stated that apart from attitude test which is number one criteria, the screening committee will consider physical fitness and those qualified during the screening will also pass through the police, DSS and military training before final recruitment. Each local government is to bring out 100 persons.

He commended the State Governor Chief Engr David Nweze Umahi for his security consciousness, and for being development oriented.

He also commended the governor for being gender friendly by making provisions for young men and women to be accommodated in the recruitment.

Meanwhile, the SA. on security disclosed that the Governor has done exceedingly well by creating more ministries.

He therefore called on youths to leverage on the enabling business opportunities created for them by the state governor.

His counterpart Hon. Chika Nwangene SA to Governor on Security praised the Governor for the youth empowerment and his Inclusiveness in governance, and he also urged the applicants to take the job very serious if qualified.
