No going back on Ebonyi airport project – Umahi

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State, on Sunday, appealed to the people of Aguogboriga community in the Ezza North Local Government Area of the state, to bury their temporary emotional feelings over the planned airport project in the area, but instead, see the abundant economic opportunities the project would bring to them.

This is even as the Governor reiterated that siting the airport project in the area was a ‘done deal’, saying that there was no going back on the project.

The governor stated this in a post he dropped on Ezekuna Support Forum platform, where he interfaces with his numerous fans from Ezza clan. He reassured the people of the area that the construction of the airport in the designated location was for their own benefit as it would open the community up to many economic and social opportunities.

He said, “I will not yield to the antics of disgruntled political elements who are poised to see that the project never saw the light of day. The project’s delay was to wait for the dry season to enable full scale construction at the site.

Umahi said he was moved on the choice of the location of the project because of the support and partnership of the Ezza people to his administration, saying the people deserved it to stimulate the economic activities of the area.
