The Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Nweze Umahi, has restated the continued commitment of his administration to ensuring good Governance within the State. He made this known during a Prayer Summit with all Political Aspirant in Ebonyi organised by the State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria.
The Governor who was ably represented by the Deputy, Barr. Kelechi Igwe, said that the State will continue to be the first to pay workers salaries in Nigeria.
While not failing to appreciate God for his goodness, Governor Umahi noted that the State Government will always put the interest of CAN and other Religious organisations at heart. He urged all members of CAN to join hands with the government in her efforts towards promoting human and infrastructural development within the Salt of the Nation.
Earlier in his address, the Ebonyi State CAN chairman and the SSA to the Governor on Religious & welfare matters, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Abraham Nwali, observed that the summit, themed “Peace/Security, Non-violence, Free and fair Election 2019”, was targeted at praying for the peaceful conduct of the 2019 general elections.
Also present at the event were the First Lady of Ebonyi State, Her Excellency Chief Mrs. Rachel Umahi, the wife of the State Deputy Governor, Chief Mrs. Nnenna Igwe, Exco members, religious leaders, traditional rulers and different political aspirants.
